Antique, Southeast Asian, celadon crackle glazed ceramic large figural jar on a circular socle base. The jar has a baluster body, splayed foot, and a short, everted neck. The shoulder of the jar is decorated with five guardian figures, each mounted on an elephant. The figures are finely hand-sculpted in high relief and wear top spiky headdresses, necklaces, and bracelets. They have their hands folded in a prayer gesture.

CONDITION: It is in good condition, with no cracks or repairs, except that the long central spikes of the two figures’ headdresses are chipped.

Measurements approximately:

Height, in the highest point including the plinth: 31.5 cm (12.4 inches).

The height of the jar at the highest point, without the base: 22.5 cm (8.86 inches).

Weight including the base: 4.608 kg (10.146 lb.).
