Unavailable

One of the series of 24 scenes from plays by Shakespeare designed by John Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works, pattern No. 1408.  Depicted here is: "Merchant of Venice, Act II, scene ii" .  The tile is underglaze block-printed in sepia on a buff clay body and finished in a clear glossy glaze. It is in only good condition with surface of upper corners flaked off. The central image of the scene from the play is in excellent condition; this tile could be installed with grout covering the upper corners, or the missing areas filled with putty and framed.  Please write with any questions you may have.
