ANtique medieval brooch Castle Scarborough enamel hand painted victorian grand tour jewelry

Unavailable

THis antique brooch with enamel front ( since it is a close up it is not as detailed looking as in real person) has the Castel Scarborough on it. I think it might be hand painted and enameled on top.

Scarborough Castle is a former medieval Royal fortress situated on a rocky promontory overlooking the North Sea and Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It has a history that has been documented from the 12th century. Full or war and terror it is amazing it still stands. It was fortified and defended during various civil wars, sieges and conflicts, as kings fought with rival barons, faced rebellion and clashed with republican forces, though peace with Scotland and the conclusion of civil and continental wars in the 17th century led to its decline in importance.

It is a very interesting read when you look up the history of this famous castle. THe brooch is in very good condition and because of the enlargement of the photo looks a bit pixelated, but it is not when you see it in person.
