Antique Louis XVI Style Ebonized Bureau Plat Center Table or Desk

This wonderful Louis XVI style center table or bureau plat in the manner of Jacques Dubois (1694-1763) and Etienne Levasseur (1721-1798) features gilt metal mounts, inset porcelain tiles in the Sevres fashion of the 1760s, leather-inset top. It dates from as early as the period of Louis Philippe I (1830-1848) to the Napoleon III period immediately thereafter. Measures 49" wide, 27.5" deep and 27" high.  Condition is good. There are dents, scratches, wear to the ebonized finish, and considerable wear to the leather, all consistent with age.  Underside carries the label of Frederick Litchfield, The Sinclair Galleries 555 759 Shaftsbury Avenue, London.
