Antique, Edo period Japanese hand-forged Samurai Spearhead Sankaku Yari comprising blade of typical form with flattened triangular - section with visible Hamon with a period shortened tang pierced with one mekugi-ana.
The Yari it comes with its original lacquered wooden saya carved with the Buddhist ken sword blade symbol
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length of the Spearhead sheathed in the scabbard: 30.7cm (12 1/8 in).
Overall length of the Spearhead including tang without the scabbard: 21.5cm (8 1/2 in).
Overall length of the blade: 12.7cm (5 in).
Overall length of the saya: 25.4 cm (10 in).
Depth of the saya: 17.5 cm (6 7/8 in).
CONDITION: Blade slightly pitted, scabbard with wormholes
