This finely designed and crafted mantel clock in the Louis XVI style comes from the Paris studio of Alfred Emmanuel Louis Beurdeley (1847-1919) and dates from circa 1880.  Measures 24 x 21 x 9 in.  Literature: For an identical 18th century model with movement by Gudin, see P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la Pendule Française, Paris, 1997, p. 233, fig. A. Another example of this design by Beurdeley was offered in a sale by Sotheby's in New York on October 24 2007  in lot 475 with an estimate of $12,000-$18,000. Please note, we do not guarantee the working order of clocks, as they almost always will require adjustment by a professional horologist following shipping.
