Antique French Napoleon III Gilt Metal Jewelled Mantle Clock

Unavailable

This pretty gilt metal mantel clock with movement by Guyenot of Paris dates from the third or fourth quarter of the nineteenth century.  It has the form of an Islamic arabesque pavilion with finely cast panels with floral designs. and extensive turquoise jewels, barley twist columns, and neoclassical motifs including anthemion, acanthus leaves, and the figures of cranes (storks or herons) symbolizing spring. Measures 16.8 x 9.2 x 7.5 inches.  Modern key included. Overall condition is very good.  There are obvious losses to the turquoise as seen in our images.  The movement does work, but will require professional adjustment following delivery.
