Antique EF Caldwell Greek Revival Silvered Metal Classical Chandelier

Unavailable

This chandelier in the neoclassical style features a baluster form decorated with raised Grecian masks in the grotesque style, a silvered finish and eight candle arms which have new sockets, candle covers and wiring.  We believe this is a design from Edward F. Caldwell based on similar fixtures we've seen in the Caldwell online archives at the Smithsonian Institution.  There is no hardware or other parts missing at the base, and a tassle was intended for hanging from the ring, as shown with similar Caldwell fixtures shown in the digital archives. It measures 30" tall and 28" wide.  Condition is good.  There is noticeable wear to the finish in spots where the copper-colored base metal shows through.
