Elegant and rare antique Christofle large ribbed cup with a beautiful, knot-shaped handle. It was made c. 1870 when French Symbolism, a precursor of Art Nouveau, revived the Gothic elements of Romanticism. The cup is numbered on the underside 573910 which puts its estimated production date around 1872. It also has the "CC" oval/square mark Christofle used in the 1862-1935 period and the number 27 in square boxes which designates the silver content (marque de grammage or amount of silver used for plating in grams). In very good used condition with imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: 3.5" tall by 4" top diameter and 2.5" bottom diameter approximately.
