"Melbourne" pattern octagon plate, made by Challinor & Mayer of England.  Dates from the 1880s, decorated in the aesthetic style.  Beautifully ornate design in dark blue transfer.  Marked as shown.  Measures 9 5/8"d.  Very nice condition with no chips or cracks.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
