Antique 19th Century French Cuirassier Breastplate Armor Cuirass

Antique first half of the 19th century (Bourbon Restoration Period 1814-1830) French heavy cavalry (CUIRASSIER) breastplate armor (cuirass). The breastplate is formed of thick, heavy gauge steel with a projecting medial ridge forward over the down-turned basal flange and angular outward turns at the neck and arms openings.
It is fitted with a pair of brass studs at the front to attach shoulder straps and adorned on the perimeter with six domed brass rivets.
CONDITION: This piece, like any artifact of its age, bears the marks of time and use. It is pitted with a dark age patina, a testament to its journey through history. The interiors show signs of dark brown surface rust, further adding to its authenticity and charm.
