Quantity available: 1

Antique 18th century Armenian ecclesiastical tinned copper incense burner censer, Ottoman Empire. A censer is made of hand-hammered tinned copper composed of rounded tiered dip bowl with scalloped rim, and domed cover repoussé, finely chiseled with four birded ascetic monks’ heads between four birds, most likely eagles. The center of the lid is pierced repoussé and chiseled with foliate scrolling tendrils.
This form of bird’s motives is very characteristic for Armenian art and religious objects and has been used for centuries and is associated with the emblem of the ancient Artaxiad Kingdom of Armenia.
