Beautiful Nishi & Co LTD Japanese "Sakura Doll" Bride "Hanayome" 15 inch doll in the original box and wrapper. The Sakura is a a modern innovation which appeared during the Taisho era (1912-26). It is derived from the French Dolls, which became very popular in Japan. She is dressed in a traditional Japanese Bride's outfit made of silk brocade kimono,head dress and shoes. She has a silk painted face and body. Mounted on a black wood platform. Never played with and in excellent condition.Has the original paper that explains the doll.
