SELMA ALABAMA MARCH, 1965. An important archive of fifteen vintage 6 5/8" x 9 ¾" prints on heavy paper of the 2nd (unsuccessful) and 3d (finally successful) historic marches from Selma to Montgomery to promote voting rights for black citizens. They have the stamp for photographer Mike Smith, for PIX, with a "1965" stamp and pencil notations.
3 show King and other Civil Rights marchers on the streets of Selma. 3 show marchers crossing the infamous Pettus Bridge. There are 5 of the marchers, including 4 close views, 2 of the church service, and 2 of other outside activities.
