Millers Falls Hand Crank Drill No. 2 Craftsman w/ Bits

$65.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a very nice, clean, quality made egg beater type single speed hand drill marked "CRAFTSMAN MADE IN U.S.A. 1071" but is basically the same as the MILLERS FALLS CO. No.2 on the crank handle. This one is 14.5" long overall, and has a 1/4" diameter 3-jaw chuck capacity. The chuck is spring loaded, in very good working order with about 50% of the original nickel plating intact, and one area of lite pitting noted on the exterior forward taper. The handles are hardwood with a rosewood type stain and clear finish, the clear finish is worn, and what remains has darkened, but the stain on the handle is about 90% intact, a few small dings, snug fitting, and some small dent noted on the threaded end cap. Overall the black and red paint on the cast metal parts is about 60% intact. The gears and all the spindles are in great shape! The end handle is hollow and has a threaded cap, in good condition. A place to store your drills if you wish, there is a several good drills included (you can use standard straight round shank drills with this tool up to 1/4"). The chuck on this style drill is 3 jaw type, spring loaded jaws, so the jaws spread open automatically when opening the chuck. A good solid tool, ready to use! Remember these antique drills require a drop of oil on the spindles from time to time.
