Rare pair of vintage 14K yellow gold earrings set with oval jade cabochons by Mikimoto. Although largely unrecognized, Mikimoto made a very successful and expensive range of jewelry with colored stones during the 1920s and 30s. The company used stones that were popular in European Art Deco jewelsjade, onyx and coral. These were largely sold by their retailers in Japan and Hong Kong. The jade has a strong green color and nice translucency. The screwbacks are stamped with Mikimotos hallmark. Origin: Japan, ca. 1930. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 5/8 x 7/16. Weight: 5.5 grams.
