Mid Century Rocket-Shaped Chrome & Wood Table Lamp

Mid-20th century rocket-shaped chrome and wood table lamp, featuring a tubular chrome pole fitted into a conical chrome base sitting on a larger, round natural wood base (shade not included). The contemporary profile of the chrome is accented by several pairs of recessed rings. The 5.25 inch diameter wood base, which has a felt covered bottom, tapers upward in a ringed fashion. The lamp measures about 13.75 inches high, not including the light bulb, and weighs nearly 3 pounds. It has a push button switch at the base of the chrome cone. At the top of the pole are brackets for a harp and a cardboard covering over the socket; the cardboard is starting to come apart near the bottom but still fits firmly. The lamp has a fairly heavy duty General Electric cord with a polarized plug, which may or may not be original to the lamp. The lamp functions well and the cord in is very good condition. The chrome shows light surface wear and aging with a tiny ding on the conical part. The wood base shows moderate surface wear and loss of finish.
