This is an abstract bronze sculpture by the American artist, John Alfred Begg (1903-1974). It measures 19.25" by 7.5" by 6.5" and is signed by the artist. (We do not have images of the signature at this time.) Begg lived and worked in the New York area and died in Hastings-on-Hudson. His works are held in a number of museums across the U.S., including the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover MA, the New York Public Library, and the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers. He is listed in Davenport's Art Reference, Who Was Who in American Art, and the Dictionary of American Sculptors.
