McDonald Lake, Glacier National Park, Montana color print by Ansel Adams

$198.76
Quantity available: 1
This vintage, classic Ansel Adams photograph is a printed copy of an original. Kokak came out with Kodachrome in 1935 and Ansel Adams experimented with color, even though he is best known for his black andwhite photos. The color is crisp and the framing of the juxtaposition ofthe lake, mountains, and trees is superb. Adams had a real knack forattention to eye detail. I have personally been to the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite many times and recently visited an Ansel Adams special exhibit at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. This print comeswith a very fancy yet not flashy wooden frame. The back of the printtells all about Glacier Natinal Park and also, in the right hand corner, the story of how Ansel Adams took this photograph. This colorprint was a promotional piece for "the California Oil Company" of which I could find no refernces including using Google. The framedoes have a few chips in the right hand side.
