Louis Frederick Berneker:American 1876-1937."Now wouldn't that Jar You" Oil on Canvas and signed lower right corner and Dated 1904.A student at the St. Louis School of Fine Art, Louis Berneker was a painter of landscapes, harbors and figurative works in an Art Nouveau style. He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Academy of Design and the Art Institute of Chicago and did landscape painting in Gloucester, Massachusetts. In this oil is depicted a young French girl looking desolate after dropping and breaking a pint of milk!
