Leroy Neiman Artist Proof Basketball Etching

This is an original artist's proof signed by Leroy Neiman, of "Rebound", a hand-colored etching produced in a limited quantity of five (5) numbered prints in 1972. Plate measures approximately 8 7/8 x 11 3/8 inches. Matted and framed under glass. This etching is in excellent condition. We believe it's remained under glass in this frame for at least 10-20 years or more, and may have been framed shortly after purchase in 1972.

Etchings by Neiman are relatively rare when compared to the number of serigraphs he has produced throughout his career. This particular etching is particularly appealing for it is among Neiman's very first works depicting the sport of basketball. Other basketball themed works completed by Neiman in 1972 included "Dunking" (limited edition of 5 etchings) and "Basketball" (limited edition of 250 serigraphs).
