This delightful print shows two young women with an admirer. The women are seated beside a wall. One young woman is crocheting (possibly a stocking), and her companion is sewing a seam on a shirt or chemise. Their companion, standing framed by a doorway to the left, seems to be flirting with them. Partly visible, and printed above the scene to the left, is the following: "Supplement to the New York Recorder. Sept. 2nd 1894" and above the scene to the right is "Royal A . . . " The remainder of this information is covered by the mat. This print is in its original, bright yellow frame. The outermost portion of the frame one inch wide is ribbed, then there is a narrow (1/4") silvered stripe, and a 1/4" white stripe surrounding the glass covering the print. The original backboard (heavy paper board) has a small label which says "This backboard was Pat'd April 13th, 1880, Pat'd Jan. 9th, 1883, Pat'd March 27th, 1883. Manuf by Deuther Mfg. Co., Buffalo." Written on the backboard, but barely visible, in pencil: A C Salmon (or something very similar). The colors of the print are more vibrant than our photograph indicates, and we will try to provide additional photo's if you are interested to see them.
