Large Antique Convex Glass & Gilded Wood Frame

Large antique gold-painted wood frame with decorative floral molding and convex glass, produced by the Chicago Portrait Company. This charming frame measures approximately 23.75 inches high, 15.75 inches wide, and 1.75 inches deep. The cardboard backing is stamped MADE AND SOLD BY CHICAGO PORTRAIT CO., PATENT PENDING. The faded paper label on the wood states "NOTICE. This frame specially designed and selected. PRICE OF FRAME ONLY $3.85 Including Glass and Back. One Price Cannot be altered or changed. Chicago Portrait Company, Chicago, Illinois." The frame and glass are in good to very good condition. The wooden frame is intact, with some surface scrapes, scratches, and paint loss; two small, shallow areas of wood have chipped off on the back where small nails were used to secure the backing. The glass is in very good condition, with a few minor imperfections which are typical of old glass. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition.
