Japanese Takito, Luster Glaze Handpainted Cup and Saucer

Unavailable
These cups and saucers are by the Takito Company in Japan sometime between 1880 and 1948. The porcelain is almost paper thin. The lusterware glaze on the inside of the cup picks up the light to give a multi-colored shine that complements the colors on the outside of the cup. The motif is white blossoms with black accents on a peach background with a green rim. The pattern is known as TK17. Both the cup and saucer is stamped under glaze with the double T within a diamond Takito mark.
