This is a nice antique lathe tool post or machine wrench, heavy duty open end 5/8" square opening wrench marked "5/8 J.H. WILLIAMS & CO. BROOKLYN N.Y. U.S.A. 507" on the steel. This is an early wrench, and also have the W inside the diamond Williams loge cast into the steel. Most of the 8.5" long wrench is covered with black Japanning (paint), the area around the opening is bare metal. The paint is about 95% intact, only a few minor factory imperfection in the paint noted. A hard to find heavy duty square opened wrench by a well known quality tool maker!
