This hand colored original Civil War Harper's Weekly illustration shows "The Great Naval Expedition". The lower image shows a number of US Warships, including (from left to right); Curlew, the Ocean Queen, Oriental, Baltic, O.M. Pettit, Gem of the Seas, Great Republic, the Wabash, Seneca, Pembina, Connecticut, Mercury, Unadilla, Augusta, Alabama, and the James Adger. The upper left inset depicts the loading of horses onto one of the warships. The upper right inset shows horses in stalls between decks of one of the warships. It hass great color. There is i small tear on the middle fold at the bottom shown in image #2
