John Constable was a highly influential painter of landscapes and rustic life. He did most of his painting in his native Suffolk, England.

This partial set of dinnerware presents many of his masterpiece scenes on its plates, boats, cups and serving pieces.

This lot of black transferware plates by W.H. Grindley, England - includes: (sizes in inches)
1 Platter Arundel Mill & Castle 12 x 10 inches
1 Covered Vegetable dish Boat Passing a Lock and River Stour, Suffolk 10 inches handle-to- handle, 5 overall height.
1 Gravy Boat Bentley, Suffolk 6-3/4 x 4 -1/4 x 3-1/2 inches.
8 Dinner Plates Salisbury Cathedral 10 diameter.
11 Soup Bowls Alcock on the Stour 7-3/ 4 diameter.
2 Cups Canal Banks, Newbury and Windmill & Sheep 3-3/4 diameter x 2-1/4
4 Saucers Dedham Mill, Essex 5-3/4 diameter.

All pieces in very good used condition. No chips, cracks or repairs found. Only some wear from age and use.

Circa early to mid 20th C.
