Giusseppe Roberti Oil Painting Signed
Giusseppe Roberti, Large Oil Painting, Signed
This oil painting is a signed still life oil painting of a table of instruments and books by GIUSSEPPE ROBERTI done in the style of 17th. century Italian painter Evaristo Baschenis, circa approximately 1960's. According to his bio on the back of the painting, Roberti was a native of Naples, Italy and started painting at an early age. He developed a unique style in his work with still life subjects that is considered by critics to be of an extremely high caliber. This is quite evident in this piece. The painting appears 3D and so real it's as if you're looking at the objects through a window rather than on canvas. This painting is listed as style number 1963. A gold plaque with ROBERTI is on the front bottom of the frame. The frame is wood with linen, antiqued in gold gilt.
CONDITION: Fair to Good due to various swirl cracks in the canvas, along with what appears to be a smudge in the paint itself and 1/2" tear in the canvas in the corner. The gold gilt on the wood frame is flaking in several areas. However, the frame itself is in good condition with a few pieces of the texture missing.
MEASUREMENTS: 55.5" wide x 31" tall" including the frame. Frame is 3.5" deep. Picture itself is 48" wide x 24" tall.
