Heavy leaf-shaped blade of hollow-diamond section tapering socket of hexagonal section, on an early chestnut haft bound with a pattern of leather trellis, embossed with the letters HH at the top 14in head, overall 73". Likely from the Court Hunt of Georg Wilhelm, Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg, Schloss Marienburg. Provenance: Thomas Del Mar, Ltd. 6-25-08, lot 168; sold for 2600 British Pounds, plus premium (over $6100 USD at the time).
