Georg Jensen TULIP Necklace design #66 Denmark

Unavailable

Originally designed by Harald Nielsen, this Tulip necklace has become one of the most highly sought after Jensen pieces by G.J. zealots.  A truly sublime design where form and function meet in unity. Not only aesthetically pleasing, this piece was also designed with comfort to the wearer an equal priority. With simple, nature inspired, beauty (the hallmark of any Jensen piece) the main focus, Nielsen then went on to sculpt these 1" long and 3/4" wide tulip links with an ever-so-slight contour, allowing the individual pieces to lay on a woman's neck in a comfortable, sensual and alluring way.

This necklace is made of solid sterling silver, hallmarked appropriately, stamped with the word "sterling", along with "Denmark" and the number "66" indicating the design pattern and place of it's "birth".  It bears Georg Jensen's incused makers mark of full name inside an oval of 24 dots, dating it as post 1944. With an overall length, end-to-end, of 18" and weighing 71.3 grams, the piece is in excellent vintage condition. The tongue and groove latch, along with safety lock, fit firmly and snuggly allowing no wiggling. In it's approximate 60+ years of life it has suffered no damage, and thus has had no repair work. There are no nicks, dents OR dings - and no major scratches. While the light surface scuffs, accordant with age, show proof that while carefully cared for, it was also very much loved.

I am one who believes that objects retain energy, jewelry especially so. In the case of this piece it is my very humble opinion that the energy this necklace carries with it is nothing short of noiseless affinity and pronounced warmth.

This necklace design does not come to market often, and when it does, historically it sells very quickly. I have known a couple of Jensen addicts who waited years for the fortune to possess this beauty. If you are one of them, here is your opportunity. Cheers
