French Gilt Bronze & Glass Tantalus

A stunning antique 19th century French Napoleon III era gilt bronze & beveled glass liquor tantalus box or cabinet. The frame work is of gilt bronze, decorated with Louis XV style decor. Quite an ornate piece the decorative mounts are finely casted and it sits on four stylized feet. The lid opens to reveal an interior fitted with a mirror base, encasing a removable gilt ormolu reticulated caddy mounted onto a thick glass base. In good condition for its age. There is a lock and key. The glassware set is missing two cordial shot glasses. The metal has a bit of darkening to it, a nice patina. Overall measurements are: 12.5W x 10.5D x 11H, circa 1890.
