The Freedom Train was commissioned after WWII to travel around the country with a 126 piece collection of historic documents for display to the public. The U.S.Marines were appointed to guard them. The Streamliner train traveled for 2 years & visited 48 states with the collection. Those documents are now housed in the Archives. This commemorative pinback in great shape with only the ribbon and Marines pin showing the years. The ribbon is faded & the Marines pin(copper-colored metal) has paint worn off at 1 wing tip of the eagle & along 1 side of the anchor as seen in the photo. Great photo of the Streamliner!
