Offering this early (of this type) carpenter's all steel mitre square in great shape! It is marked "FOX'S FRED G. BREUL TOOL WORKS BRIDGEPORT CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED 1921" on same side as the inch graduation from 0-10". It has about 80% of the original nickel plating intact, and is straight, good graduation markings, no rust or damage. We checked it for squareness, and still checks out good! A very nice antique square in great shape overall! There has been many makers and similar type carpenter's squares made since this one was patented. We are not sure if this was the very first carpenter's square ever patented, but the facts seem to point in that direction. I rarely work on a carpentry project without a similar type square near by, as I like to use it as a circular saw guide. Make quick mitre or 90 degree layout lines, or use it in conjunction with the steel guide on you circular saw. A most useful tool!
