Fostoria Betsey Ross Plate

Unavailable
In 1971, Fostoria Glass Company introduced American Milestones, a series of collectible plates produced by Fostoria to commemorate the historic 1976 Bicentennial. This plate, titled “Old Glory” was the first plate produced for the series, it features Betsy Ross stitching the first official American flag, fondly referred to as “Old Glory”. All the plates from this series were mold pressed. The rim was left clear but the center portion was frosted and then an overall iridescent finish was applied. The plates were only produced for 1 year, and on December 31 of each year the mold for the current plate was destroyed. A total of six different designs were produced as part of this series. All plates in this series are the same size, 10½" x just under 8”. It is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The plate is signed Fostoria 1971 at the base of the picture.
