Flintlock Over and Under Tap Action Pistol, ca. 1810

Unavailable
Steel frame with boxlock action, engraved with martial trophies and “DUTTON” one side, “LONDON” other side. Sliding top safety and folding concealed trigger. Clear London view and proof marks on underside of frame. Tap action lever controls the firing of the round 1 5/8" turn-off barrels. Metal with some light pitting and barrels show some abrasion, probably from attempting to unscrew them, but it appears to be old. One-piece walnut grips (minor dents and abrasions) with vacant silver escutcheon. Maker is probably John Dutton, ca. 1790-1820, whose shop was in London. Overall length 6".
