Fashionable Drawing by Leslie Saalburg Ad 1947 This is a September 1947 advertisement It is a nice color drawing by Leslie Saalburg. It is a drawing to display mens fashions. In this ad two gentlemen are walking along a sidewalk with a lady. Three gentlemen in wigs are standing and talking in the right hand side of the picture. Under the picture it reads, painted in London, England especialy for Esquire. Three folks walking are all carrying closed umbrellas. Reads, One would hardly think those solemn visaged barristers and their smartly clad strollers were brothers under the silk. But with wigs away there is no telling who is judge and who s juror which is as it should be. The fellow with the solid blue tie is wearing a bluish gray broken diagonal finished worsted suit. black homburg, black shoes and tan cape gloves. His companion wears a brown worsted suit, with wine colored stripe Green snap brim hat and chamois gloves. In mint condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 9 1/2 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches tall.
