Fairmount Pliers Special Purpose Glass?

This is a nice clean, special purpose pliers with a curved jaws feature that allows the shorter L-shaped jaw to touch the longer straight jaw when completely closed, however it appears the flip latch at the end is designed to hold a part or glass for example that is about 3/16" thick when the flip latch is locked in place at the opposite end from the jaws. The clearence length in the jaws is 1-3/8", and the width of the jaws is 1/2" x 1/8" land (on the part of the shorter jaws that touch the longer jaw. The pivot joint is very heavy duty, very snug. The handle area is marked "FAIRMOUNT CLEVE." in raised cast lettering. These pliers are in very good condition overall with no rust, no damage, and very little wear. Unique!
