Our extraordinary hand-carved nephrite jade wax seal stamp dates from the nineteenth century and depicts a walking female lion.  1 3/4 by 1 1/4 by 3/4 inches (4.4 by 3.1 by 1.9 cm).  It has ring at the top to allow mounting to a fob, or to a necklace so it may be worn as a pendant.  The oval-shaped underside is not carved and the piece is apparently unsigned.  Of continental origin, possibly Russian.  Our price is firm.  The finest example of petite jade carving and most unusual wax seal we have handled in our 20 years in business.
