This is a gorgeous Empire style walnut and rosewood pedestal with "rosso antico " marble top, marble down the four corners and exquisite ormolu mounts. This pedestal is sure to become the centrepiece of your antique furniture collection and will get noticed wherever it is placed.

This is a wonderful pedestal for displaying your bronzes, marble statues or porcelain vases.

These were inspired by the Empire style. The Empire style was popular in the courts of Europe (especially Russia and France) at the turn of the 19th Century. The furniture was characterised by symmetry of design and pedestals were very much in vogue. It was frequently embellished with ormolu or brass mounts.
