This beautiful figurine, Etoile du Berger (Evening Star), after Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934), depicts a semi-nude female with long sword and raised arm. Levasseur studied with August dumont, Jules Thomas and Eugene de la Planche, and as the cartouche indicates this model was a gold medal winner at the Paris Salon. Condition is good.  There is a hole in the palm of the outstretched hand, and some drip marks in the patination. Our price is firm. ( statue )
