Unlike other tray tables with stands, this hand carved offers high legs for use as a side or center table custom made to fit the oval tray which sits inside, lip anchored over edge. High legs with wide scrolled apron and fan carved design center of the four sides. Dates from the 18th century,England, with a gorgeous black background metal tray with floral hand painting in the center of deep red, lavender, blue, cream and green. Although not signed, the quality is evident in the down turned metal lip embellished with dainty gilt painting and inlaid with mother of pearl which is all intact as seen in a Jennens Bettridge piece. Extremely sturdy piece with tray fitting snugly over the frame, the hand made table itself a work of art in construction. Due to the age of the 1700's piece, very slight lose to small areas of the black background paint only. However, the black is so dark it is not noticeable nor a future threat, just a mention. The stand in wonderful condition as well. Stunning piece. Measures 31L X 26.5W X 28H to top of raised lip,27 H to table height.
