English George V Sterling Silver Trophy Bowl

This is an English George V sterling silver trophy. The piece has a circular, domed, plain bowl embellished by a circle of entwined leaf motifs. Supporting the bowl are three standing, cast silver, athletes on a circular swept base. Beneath each athlete is a plain shield and bead decoration. Rectangular plaques have been applies to each side of the ebony square base; one of these plaques has an applied crest and hallmarks. The height of the trophy, from base of the stand to the top of the trophy, is approx. 14 ½”, the height of the trophy itself is approx. 11 ½”, diameter of the top is approx. 7”, diameter of the bas is approx. 4 ¾”, and it weighs approx. 33 troy ounces.
