English Coal Bin with Marble Top

Antique English coal bin made of solid mahogany with a figured marble top. There are brass handles on the sides and front panel and a brass gallery on the top back section. The center of the front panel is framed with carved moldings in a square pattern the front vertical side panels are fluted. The base has a serpentine shaped apron in the front and sides. The opening of the bin is wood and partially lined in velvet. The top has the original marble that is nicely figured in a brown, white & grey coloring. The piece can work well as a side table or storage for kindling, small fire tools or magazines. This is a lovely piece in excellent condition and the mahogany patina is very attractive and warm. The finish is it's French polished. This would be a very nice antique piece to accessorize your fireplace, it dates from circa 1870.
