Effanbee Kewpie Santa Doll with Sleigh

This Effanbee Kewpie Santa Doll is mint in the box and the set consists of a 8 inch Kewpie dressed in a suit of red velvet like material with a faux white fur and red, green & gold ribbon trim. The hang tag is attached to the wrist. The tiny boots are a shiny black patent looking material. The matching red & white cap has a green pom pom on the end. The wooden sleigh is 9.5" long X 4" wide X 7" tall and is decorated with leaves, gold holly berries and ribbons, it hold a bag of surprises. A 5 inch white plush bear with a green muffler, 3 small shiny wrapped gift boxes and a red cloth Santa bag, with an additional small 2.5 inch flocked bear in a red bib pants and white shirt. You can see the sealed plastic bag in one picture. The Certificate of Authenticity is included. It states that this 2001 Kewpie was created from original molds and has been approved by Jesco Imports the exclusive license holder of the Kewpie trademark.

Effanbee introduced their first hard vinyl edition of the Kewpie in 1949. The Kewpie has been popular with people since Rose O'Neill created them in 1909. This is old store stock and has never been removed from the box or displayed. The box has no tears but you can see some light indention marks from storage. The dimensions of the box are 5" tall X 10" wide X 18.5" long. This doll will delight the Kewpie collectors and Santa Clause fans. Check my inventory for other Kewpie items.
