Early Type Stanley Jointer Plane No. 7 Pre-Lateral

Offering for sale this nice clean, early type Stanley Bailey No. 7 Jointer plane in good+ working order, sharp and ready to use.  This early type does have the threaded cutter depth adjustment with the brass thumbscrew, but was made before the frog positioning screw or the raised Bailey name or No. 7 markings.  This type does have the marking BAILEYS PATENT AUG. 31. 1858 on the brass thumbscrew.  It's a very small engraving and may have another patent date also, but hard to see with the camera.  The rosewood knob and tote appear original and are solid with some small to minor dings and dents.  The tote has a few dings at the top, one small chipped off area as noted in the photos.  The cutter has a name on it but I can't make it out, but I don't thing it's the original cutter yet fits perfectly on the frog.  The frog and all hardware are in great shape the sole is flat, about 80% black Japanning is intact, no rust, one past owner's name stamped on one side.  No sign of cracks or other damage, very nice overall condition for a plane that was manufactured in the 1880's (Most likely a Bailey Type 4)
