This is a wonderful red and white Drunkard's Path quilt made of 100% cotton fabrics and has a thick cotton batting. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. It is quilted with 8 - 10 stitches per inch. It has the same muslin fabric as the backing. It is in excellent condition with only a few minor starch stains in the fabric as shown in the pictures #7 & 8. It was made by Elsie Norma Glasgow Abney in the 1920's. She married William Claude Abney, both from Rector, Arkansas, in 1920 and moved to Paragould, Arkansas. Claude was a pharmacist and Elsie a mother and housewife. She was 22 when she married and moved to Paragould. She was an avid quilter and made many quilts in her lifetime. We have 3 quilts from her grandson who now resides in Florida.
