Trifari, which is known for its Chess set pieces has a number of pins and fur clips with heads that are just like this.  It has the King and Queen, the horse or pawn and the Castle tower. I am not sure of the silver content but it is really heavy. Notice the metal bead work on the top and bottom of this as well as the detailed links.  IT works great and is REALLY sturdy. This is not signed. It is a quality piece that measures 1 ¼" wide and 7" long when closed with the fold over clasp. A true collectors piece.
