Vintage Wedgwood Mrs Tiggy Winkle Beatrice Potter Nursery Childs Dish Set in Box. This set was made by Staffordshire from 1979 to 1988, it is the original box and appears to have never been used. The Mrs. Tiggy Winkle pattern is based on characters from books by Beatrice Potter.
This set includes a 6 7/8" plate, a 3" tall mug and a cereal bowl that is 5 3/4" across and 1 3/4" deep. The plate says Once upon a time there was a little girl call Lucie, who lived at a farm call Little-town. She was a good little girl- only she was always losing her pocket-handkerchiefs! The bowl say And she hung up all sorts and sizes of clothes- small brown coats of mice: and one velvety black mole-skin waist- coat: and a red coat wtih no tail, the cup says All the way down the path little animals came out of the fern to meet them! Lucie and Mrs. Tiggy-winkle with the bundles of clothes.
All three pieces with the Wedgewood mark and are in excellent condition, no chips and no signs of use. A beautiful and hard to find set for your collection or as a baby gift!
