Very unusual hair pin with the initial "R" and a mother of pearl background! Unable to catch it in the pictures but the background glows in purples, greens and blues. Really an amazing sight. There appears to be wheat or grass stalks as well. Lots going on in this 1.5" wide beauty. A great addition to any hairwork collection. Circa 1880 and probably a pinchbeck back
