Description: This McClellan Calvery Saddle was used in the Amercian Civil War and adopted by the US War Dept., in 1859 and remained standard issue for the remaining history of the horse calvary. The saddle was light in weight not to burden the horse, but sturdy to give good support to the rider and his gear. The brass plate on the saddle say's "12" seat" and stamped in the leather "WCC". This saddle is in good condition, the year is between 1870-1904 and is a wonderful piece of history to have to display in your home. Thank you for viewing this item.
